Concert Triumph The 24/25 season started on Saturday 16th November with a concert featuring one of the most popular works for piano, Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto, performed by international soloist, chamber musician and recording artist, Simon Callaghan, Borodin's Overture to Prince Igor and a work rapidly establishing itself as a repertoir favourite, Florence Price's Symphony No.1. The enthusiastic audience of over three hundred were treated to two encores during the evening, one from Simon and one from the Orchestra.
New Director of Music appointed We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Prescott (pictured) as the Orchestra's new Director of Music. Mark is a hugely experienced conductor and musical director and the Orchestra looks forward to an exciting new chapter with him at the helm.
Calling all Viola and Double Bass players We are looking for viola players and double bassists to join the Orchestra. If you are Grade 8 or equivalent and looking to join a sociable orchestra then we'd love to hear from you! We rehearse on Monday evenings 7:30-9:30pm at The Beckett School in West Bridgford.
